The holidays are just around the corner and it's never too early or late to start shopping; especially with the convenience of online stores. It's always a challenge to find the perfect gifts, especially for the traveler. The following is a list of items I own
personally and have come to rely on as travel lifesavers:
Apple
iPod 30 GB Price: $424.99 (Free Shipping)
I
never leave home without this wonderful gadget. It's a lifesaver on
airplanes, cars, hotels, and on vacation when you just want to relax to your
favorite tunes. I purchased my 15 GB iPod in June, which came with
docking cradle and remote. It's advisable to purchase the 30 GB
version simply because it's only $25 more than the 20 GB (both come with docking
cradle and remote). The cheaper 10 GB version does not come with
docking cradle or remote -- purchased separately and you are close to the price
of the 20 GB. Currently, I have over 900 songs in my iPod and I am not
even close to filling all the memory. I use the iPod with my PC with
absolutely no problems; however, I highly recommend using Apple's iTune's
software over Musicmatch. If you have any more questions, please feel free

PlaneQuiet
Headsets $79.95
For
those seeking the sounds of silence, the PlaneQuiet headset is an excellent
product at an affordable price. Over a three month period, I tested PlaneQuiet
headsets on two trans-Atlantic flights, two trans-Continental
flights, and four domestic flights under two hours. I alternated between using
and not using the headsets on various flights. What I quickly discovered is that
I felt rested and relaxed after flights using the PlaneQuiet headsets versus the
flights I did not use them. I'll admit, I was very skeptical of this product's
claims of reducing jet lag; however, after testing it, I've become a true
