Budget
Budget announced on March 21 a travel contingency plan in the event air travel would be suspended by the U.S. government. If the U.S. Department of Transportation suspends air travel, a special one-way rental policy will go into effect immediately. Budget will waive all drop off fees and related surcharges for vehicles that are already on rent and returned to different cities. For new reservations during a period of suspended air travel, Budget will remove limits on the number of vehicles it allows for one-way use, subject to availability. Budget will also suspend any “no show” penalties associated with special equipment reservations. If the U.S. Department of Homeland Security puts the nation on Red Alert status the Budget senior management team will quickly convene to consider the necessity of implementing the special one-way rental policy. Such a policy would apply to all U.S. and Canadian locations. For more information, visit Budget's website at http://www.budget.com
