Hotels.com has introduced a new flexible policy. Hotels.com will, for a period of 14 days from March 19, 2003 (April 2), waive its change and cancellation fees for reservations made prior to March 19. In addition, Hotels.com is waiving change fees one time for any reservations booked between March 18, 2003 and April 30, 2003. Expedia
Expedia will implement a "flexible booking" policy in the event military conflict begins in Iraq or the Homeland Security status is elevated to "code red." The policy waives cancellation penalties and provides full refunds for customers who have reserved (separately or as part of a package) hotel, car, or destination service prior to the declaration of war or the code red alert. Customers will have 14 days to contact Expedia once the policy becomes effective, and will be able to cancel or make changes to any trip that begins within 60 days. For customers who have purchased airline tickets or cruises, Expedia will adhere to the individual airline or cruise line policies. Hotwire has relaxed policies on (normally) nonchangeable and nonrefundable purchases,in the event of military conflict or the Homeland Security status is elevated to "code red." Cancellation penalties will be waived for customers who have reserved hotel or car reservations. For customers who have purchased airline tickets or cruises, Hotwire will adhere to the individual airline or cruise line policies.
