Anita,
I have purchased American Airlines tickets online for travel to
Hartford, CT, in October. Now we're not sure we want to go because
of all the problems in the New York City area. Is there any
recourse we can take to cancel these tickets because of the fear
of traveling by plane at this time?

Dear Gloria,
As of September 17, 2001 you cannot. American's
policy states that anyone ticketed for travel between September 11 and
September 25 will be reaccomodated. All tickets issued for travel after
September 25th will not be eligible for refunds or changes. Your best bet
is to keep checking with American to see if they extend these dates.
